QUEZON CITY — The Department of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) is set to host the Advanced Science, Technology and Innovation Convention (ASTICON) 2025 on August 5, 2025 at Novotel Manila, Araneta City, Cubao to solidify its commitment to research, innovation, and collaboration toward a tech-enabled future for the Philippines.
With the theme “Preparing Tomorrow, Today,” the premier gathering aims to spotlight emerging research and breakthrough technologies across fields in ICT and microelectronics.
ASTICon 2025 will convene stakeholders from the private sector, local government units, academia, and fellow government agencies to promote knowledge exchange and encourage collaboration towards inclusive and evidence-based innovation.
The event will also mark the official launch of four flagship programs that reflect each of the DOST-ASTI’s core thematic priorities:
- CONNECT – Collaborative Open Network Infrastructure for Emerging Technologies, Computing, and Connectivity
- ACCORD – AI-Centered Computation, Optimization, and Responsible Research Development
- ASCENT – Advancement of Autonomous Systems, Wireless Connectivity, and Embedded Electronics for National Transformation
- THRIVE – Transforming High-Impact Research into Viable Everyday Solutions
These programs embody DOST-ASTI’s vision to drive technology progress and national development across critical science and technology domains.
Aside from the main convention, the one-day event will also feature a technology exhibit showcasing DOST-ASTI innovations geared toward key sectors such as agriculture, health, energy, and disaster resilience.
These initiatives aim to contribute to national development by promoting the strategic application of science and technology in addressing real-world challenges.
While the main convention is exclusive to select participants, the technology exhibit will be open to the public.
The ASTICON 2025 is among the many initiatives of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) aimed at providing science-based, innovative, and inclusive solutions across four strategic pillars: human well-being, wealth creation, wealth protection, and sustainability. These pillars embody the mantra OneDOST4U: Solutions, Opportunities for All. For more information, visit www.asti.dost.gov.ph. (By Rosemarie C. Señora, DOST-STII)
