Misamis Occidental- With General Community Quarantine still implemented in Misamis Occidental and movement is limited, a lot of Misamisnon are still waiting for help to sustain their daily living particularly in terms of bringing food to their table.
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative, a Department of Science and Technology-Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (DOST-SETUP) cooperator in Misamis Occidental, brings hope to Misamisnon. Paglaum MPC donated and delivered sacks of rice to each municipality and city in Misamis Occidental in collaboration with the local government unit.
The cooperative delivered a total of 290 sacks of rice to 14 municipalities and 150 sacks of rice in three cities, all in the province Misamis Occidental. On top of these, Paglaum MPC also donated rice and groceries valued at Php 253,409.00 to the Plaridel Port and motor cab drivers, the Philippine National Police and at several checkpoints, among others.
Truly, Paglaum which means “hope” has lived up to its company and seal by bringing indeed the needed assistance to every community in Misamis Occidental. Paglaum, a cooperative with a heart to care and share with the community is worth emulating, according to the DOST-X.
Amidst the economic haze brought by the COVID19 pandemic, Paglaum MPC anchors on the idea of public-private partnership to ensure that help intended for the people is delivered effectively. DOST Misamis Occidental, the provincial office of DOST-X, also believes that the heart of Paglaum MPC is worth emulating as an effective science and technology partnership that swiftly changes the plight of those sectors that are economically affected by the pandemic.
