Scientists and researchers got social and “magnetized” during a recent webinar organized by the Department of Science and Technology-Science and Technology Information Institute as a pre-National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) offering last 18 November 2021.

After years of preparation and a series of consultations, the Department of Science and Technology Central Office (DOST-CO) is finally conferred the Bronze Award under the Enhanced Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) by virtue of CSC Resolution No. 2100446 dated 15 June 2021.

With the goal of strengthening research and development (R&D) in secondary and higher education, the Department of Science and Technology in Region XI (DOST-XI) conducted a webinar titled, “In Focus: Davao’s Research Agenda” on 12 November 2021 held virtually in Zoom platform and Facebook Live.

For this event, resource speaker, Dr. Rochelle Papasin, Special Science Teacher V and Research Coordinator of the Philippine Science High School, Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC), presided over the webinar that aims to educate public and private senior high school teachers and students, state colleges and universities, as well as private colleges about the research agenda in Davao region in the light of the current pandemic.

Statistics are not just plain numbers. These are vivid and colorful stories written and described not in words but in numbers to provide the user with a clearer and measurable assumptions and conclusions.

And for this purpose, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) launches its compendium of S&T Statistics compiling data from 2015 to 2018 on 19 November 2021 through a virtual press conference.

Over 1,000 sweet-tooth and chocolate enthusiasts all over the country gathered virtually during the “Science of Chocolate” webinar organized by the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office XI (DOST XI) last 3 November 2021 via Zoom and Facebook Live. 

Participants ranging from students, teachers, government employees, entrepreneurs, as well as chocolate enthusiasts from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have listened intently to this one-hour chocolaty webinar treat that talked about chocolates.
