Innovative hearty food.

Department of Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña tries the freeze-dried Dampalit Atsara, one of the food products developed at the Regional Food Innovation Center during the plant visit coinciding with the facility’s soft launch at the Bulacan State University on November 24, 2021. Aside from this emergency food product, there are other food innovations on display including the vacuum-fried mushroom chips and the freeze-dried ginataang mais, oregano, and Arrozcaldo. These food products will soon be available in the market. The plant visit is part of the DOST Regional Office III celebration of the 2021 National Science and Technology Week happening from November 22-28, 2021. (Text & Photo by Rachel P.
