NOTICE OF VACANCY

The Department of Science and Technology – Central Office (DOST-CO) is in need of qualified applicants to fill up the position of Planning Officer V / SG-24 - OSEC-DOSTB-CADOF-1-2017 under the Planning and Evaluation Service - S&T Resources Assessment and Evaluation Division. Applicants must meet the following requirements of the position:

Compensation Package:
Monthly Basic Salary :

P 98,185

Monthly Additional Allowances :

a. Representation and Transportation Allowances
b. Personal Economic Relief Allowance
c. Communication Allowance
d. RA 8439-mandated allowances (Subsistence, Laundry, Hazard Pay)

 

Minimum Requirements
Education :

Master's degree OR Certificate in Leadership and Management from the CSC

Experience :

4 years of supervisory/management experience

Training :

40 hours of supervisory/management training/learning and development intervention

Eligibility :

Career Service Professional / Second Level Eligibility

Job Description

1. Directs and reviews scientific and technological information for the formulation and implementation of comprehensive plans and programs;

2. Plans, directs, and supervises the conduct of research, periodic surveys, and special studies, and in the analysis of S&T data for policy formulation and general economic guidelines and in the continuing assessment of national resources for strengthening S&T capability of the country;

3. Develops plans for the department and agencies aimed at strengthening the information support system for policy formulation research management and interrogation of S&T with economic and social development;

4. Directs, supervises, and reviews the evaluation of Scientific and Technological Activities (STA) and the different facts of determining the technological and economic feasibilities of technologies developed by research institutions;

5. Initiates and establishes linkages with different public and private institution for the coordination, planning and effective implementation of S&T program by building and leveraging networks and partnerships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, in support of the Agency’s programs and priorities;

6. Represents higher officials in scientific and technological meetings, conferences, seminars, etc., both local and foreign, as may be assigned;

7. Directs and supervises administrative control of all personnel in the division and other units under its jurisdiction by setting quality guidelines in report generation and document preparation process to ensure quality and timeliness; and

8. Performs other functions as may be assigned from time to time.
