DOST-II scitech services reach remote Fuga Island

APARRI, Cagayan, Philippines – As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, the Department of Science and Technology Region II (DOST-II) gave 85 essential relief packs and 10 units of Multi-Purpose Drying facility last 21-23 May 2021 at Sitio Naguilian, Barangay Fuga Island.
Fuga is one of the islands located north of Luzon, part of the Babuyan Archipelago, and a far-flung barangay in Aparri, Cagayan. It is accessible by boat and is 3-4 hours from Claveria town.

DOST’s COARE supercomputing facility continues to support COVID-19-centric initiatives

It has been more than a year since the COVID-19 pandemic devastated the world, affecting the global economy and altering lives. The Philippines was not spared, and the nation has been hit hard. With the virus claiming more than 20,000 lives and the total number of cases is still climbing past the one million mark, there is a need to intensify our efforts in battling this highly infectious disease.

DOST, MMSU seek to improve household water quality in Carasi, Ilocos Norte

As part of the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program and the drive to provide clean and potable water for the municipality of Carasi in Ilocos Norte, the Department of Science and Technology in Region I (DOST-I) recently conducted water sampling in the different barangays in the said municipality to determine household water quality.This was made possible through the collaboration of DOST Provincial Science and Technology Center-Ilocos Norte (PSTC-IN) and the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU).

City of San Fernando, La Union - The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office I (DOST-I), through the Provincial Science and Technology Center of La Union (PSTC-LU), provided technological interventions to Sossy Bites Food Trading under the DOST’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) – Innovation-Enabling Fund (iFund).
