Planning your event well solves half of your problems, so were representatives from the Provincial Science and Technology Centers and Regional Office of the Department of Science and Technology-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR) advised during the Training on Events Management and Coordination and Dealing with the Media 101 seminar workshop. Dr. Aristotle P. Carandang, chief science research specialist at the DOST’s Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) was the resource person in this activity held at DOST-CAR Conference Room, Km. 6, La Trinidad, Benguet on April 4-5. The two-day training armed the DOST-CAR staff in handling regional events with beneficial knowledge to ensure that S&T events are carefully planned and well-coordinated, focusing on DOST-CAR as a key player towards a more engaging S&T promotion and events management in the region. STII is DOST’s information arm which spearheaded various nationwide programs and events such as the Juan Time (Philippine Standard Time) promotion, Science for Safer Communities, and Science Nation Tour, including national and regional S&T week celebrations.
