With more than a thousand expected attendees and participants, the Science Nation Tour: AghamnaRamdam will run in South Central Mindanao, more popularly known as SOCCSKSARGEN, on 16-18 February this year.
“The Science Nation Tour is a national roadshow aimed at making science felt by the average Filipino people down to the grassroots- to the last mile primarily thru massive promotion and expansion of programs, projects and services of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) throughout the country,” explained the DOST XII Regional Director, Dr. Zenaida P. HR Laidan. “DOST Secretary Mario Montejo will lead the cause to showcase DOST developed scientific and technological advancements in the country.”

DOST & partners launch ICT biz incubator in Palawan

To proideFilipino technopreneurs in Palawan a hub to incubate and accelerate Information and Communications Technology (ICT)–based enterprises, the Department of Science and Technology-MIMAROPA (DOST-MIMAROPA), Palawan State University (PSU), Palaweño ICT Association (PICTA), and Make a Difference (MAD) Industries of Malaysia, came together to open the first ever international ICT business incubator in MIMAROPA last December at the Palawan State University-Main Campus in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Int’l Math Olympiad winners bag medals anew in local tilt

Medalists in last year’s International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) proved their dominance anew as they comprised the Top Three winners in this year’s Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO).
Farrell Eldrian Wu of MGC New Life Christian Academy, first runner up in the previous PMO, this time topped the national tilt. He was also bronze medalist in the 56th IMO held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in July last year. With the victory, Wu took home P20,000 cash prize, trophy, and gifts from Sharp Calculators.
