DOST-STII, DLSAU partner to expand access to S&T info

The De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) and the Department of Science and Technology – Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently that will significantly promote science communication in the campus.
The partnership enhances DLSAU’s collaboration with the two DOST-STII’s programs, namely the Science Journo Ako and the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks (STARBOOKS).

PH’s new handloom weaving center to create job opportunities

The newly established Philippine Handloom Weaving Center in Taguig City is eyed to create more livelihood opportunities which may expand the local weaving communities and the textile industries in the country, according to Senator Loren Legarda.
Legarda, along with science Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr. led the recent launch of the Philippine Handloom Weaving Center at the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) Grounds.

Taking advantage of health research and data analysis are important in crafting evidence-based policies on tourism and the health sectors, according to the Bohol Provincial Health Office.
Dan Blyke D. Bantugan, health education and promotions officer I of Bohol’s Provincial Health Office (PHO) said that health researchers are ‘badly needed’ in local communities to analyze available data and come up with a study that may be used as a basis in making policies to promote public health.
