A timeless quotation from our National hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, that even to our generation today, this still has an impact and relevance. The National Research Council of the Philippines of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-NRCP) brought the last of their Rizal webinar series, where they gathered a viral sensation and Tiktok influencer, a fashion and photography editor and a descendant of our national hero, and a well-known spoken word poet-artist into a Ted-talk stirred webinar titled “Inspirations from Rizal: The Youth Speaks on the Philippines 100 years hence”.

Science centrum opens in Palo, Leyte, a big step to make the town a science center

PALO, LEYTE - An interactive science museum based here was formally opened with the hope of paving the way for the town to be known as a ‘science municipality’.
The facility, located on the second floor of the Leyte Academic Center (LAC), is a joint project of the provincial government and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

With four (4) webinars discussing Rizal as a Filipino Scientist and an advocate of community rights and welfare done, the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) proudly brings the Finale of the Rizal Webinar Series titled, Inspirations from Rizal: The Youth Speaks of the Philippines 100 Years Hence held last 29 March 2022.
To make it exciting, the NRCP invited the viral sensation and 'History Geek Tita' who garnered 3.2M likes & 392k followers on TikTok—Ms. Mona Magno-Veluz, or popularly known as Mighty Magulang. She provided interesting facts about Rizal that most of us would not know.
DOST seeks continuation of malnutrition reduction program to feed 3.64M stunting Filipino children

The country needs an estimated PhP 6.5B to help the 3.64M stunted children six months to three years old.
This is according to the Department of Science and Technology-Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI), which has been implementing the Malnutrition Reduction Program (MRP) since 2011, a science-based nutrition strategy that help address the high prevalence of underweight infants and young Filipino, in partnership with the local government units, national government agencies, and the private sector.
One pack of complementary food developed by DOST-FNRI, priced at PhP15.00, is needed per child daily, that translates to PhP 54.6M per day to feed the 3.64M stunted children for 120 feeding days. Currently, the DOST-FNRI, through its existing complementary food production facilities, can only cover 2.04% of this projected demand.
