DOST, DOH allot funds to study effects of mix and match vaccines on Filipinos

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), together with the Department of Health (DOH), will allot more than two million pesos to fund studies related to the mix and match of vaccines as well as their real-world effectiveness.
During the broadcaster’s forum online hosted by Rolly “Lakay” Gonzalo and Mike Abe held on 10 June 2021, DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara shared that there are two projects to study and produce relevant data and information about the procedures and effectiveness of vaccines on Filipinos.

DOST capacitates Laguna LGUs to strengthen waste management

Last 18-20 May 2021, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology - Industrial Technology and Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) and the Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) Laguna, 14 local government units from Laguna attended a two-day webinar on the conduct of Water Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS).

Women-led kakanin producers’ group of Jomalig, Quezon get food processing equipment from DOST

“Tayong mga babae ay hindi babae lang; tayo’y mga babae,” said Jomalig Municipal Science and Technology Officer (MSTO), Elizabeth A. Eyatid, during the inauguration of the Jomalig Food Processors Association (JFPA) facility that came equipped with tools and equipment, held on 19 May 2021.
The JFPA is a people’s organization composed mostly of mothers making and selling kakanin (rice cakes) in the island municipality of Jomalig, Quezon.

The Department of Science and Technology-MIMAROPA (DOST-MIMAROPA) welcomes the first batch of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from the MIMAROPA region as beneficiaries of the Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly from the Philippines (iFWD PH) through a virtual onboarding activity held last month, via zoom. iFWD PH is a DOST program that provides opportunities for the OFWs and their families to establish technology-based enterprises.
