DOST-FPRDI secures patent for Wastewater Treatment Equipment

An internationally recognized local invention from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), was granted patent by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) for its effective wastewater treatment that may contribute in the prevention of environmental pollution in the country.
The DOST – Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) recently secured a Letters Patent Invention No. 1/2022/050420 for its “Equipment System and Process for Treating Wastewater from Wet-Type Finishing Spray Booths”, granted by the IPOPHL.

DOST, SEAMEO TROPMED Network open training for Filipinos across SE Asia

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) inked a deal with a top international institution to expand its scholarship coverages in health for Filipinos across Southeast Asia.
Last April, DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Tropical Medicine and Public Health (SEAMEO TROPMED) Network signed the Memorandum of Understanding that will expand capacity-building opportunities for Filipinos.

DOST-FPRDI laboratory gets PRC accreditation

A Department of Science and Technology (DOST) pulp and paper laboratory recently received its Certificate of Authority to Operate (CATO) from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute’s (DOST-FPRDI) Cellulose Derivatives Laboratory (Pulp and Paper Chemical Properties) was given the authority to operate on April 4, 2025 after fulfilling the rigorous requirements set by the PRC. The laboratory is under the “Upgrading, Improvement and Expansion of DOST FPRDI Testing Laboratories Program”.
