With the goal of making the products and services offered by local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) more competitive in the world market and accessible to a larger number of consumers, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have committed to work together by sharing their materials, knowledge, and facilities.

President Duterte signs Balik Scientist Law

Science and technology in the country scored another milestone with the signing of the Balik Scientist law by President Rodrigo Roa A. Duterte on 15 June 2018. Republic Act No. 11035, also known as an “Act Institutionalizing the Balik Scientist Program,” would give more incentives to returning Filipino experts, scientists, inventors, and engineers who would share their expertise in the country.
DOST Scholarship Coordinator Finds Fulfilment in Assisting Scholars

This coming academic year 2018-2019, DOST-Region 8 has a total of 388 scholars (229 RA 7687 Scholars and 159 Merit Scholars) joining the 8,994 Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) scholars all over the Philippines. DOST scholarship is among the government programs which create impact not just to the recipients but also to the scholars’ whole family.

DOST-NCR helps clean up creek, empower Taguig community
