Remote learners need remediation, teachers say

When the teachers were asked over their remote learning experience: “Will the students need remediation?” - ninety percent answered yes, across all levels of basic education.
This is based on the research project, “Bridging the Gap in Remote Teaching and Learning,” conducted by the team of Dr. Celina P. Sarmiento, member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The said endeavor, which is an NRCP-funded project, is a collaborative effort by the members of the Governmental, Educational and International Policies Division of NRCP and invited researchers.
Study shows 1 in 10 Pinoy kids lacks vitamin D

One in 10 or 10.3 percent (%) of Filipino children 6 to 12 years old coming from selected provinces and cities in the country is vitamin D deficient.
This is according to the 2018 Expanded National Nutrition Survey (ENNS) of the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).

CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur – Furniture making is one of the thriving industries in the North and it to flourish, there must be a combination of many factors like creativity coupled with technology.
To address the need for technological assistance, the Department of Science and Technology Region I (DOST-I), through its Provincial S&T Center – Ilocos Sur (PSTC-IS), collaborated with RB Andaya Furniture Works to provide skills training to Balaho’s Furniture Shop. The training zeroed in on the operations and maintenance of a 3-in-1 thickness planer machine conducted at Brgy. Calimugtong, Galimuyod, Ilocos Sur last 04 August 2021.
