Maximizing the natural resources for sustainable and improved quality of life among its locals, is what the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) showcased during its three-day Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) celebration at the Occidental Mindoro State College Gymnasium in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

DOST acquires test corrosion machine to support local furniture manufacturers

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) acquired a new corrosion testing machine to ensure the durability, safety, and quality of metal furniture components to help boost local furniture manufacturers.
Corrosion testing guarantees that all metal parts of furniture, such as screws, bolts, nuts, frames, hinges, and fittings, meet the minimum requirement of international standards including ASTM B117, ISO 9227, and JIS Z 2371. This process ensures that furniture metal components are corrosion-resistant, long-lasting, and compliant with global quality benchmarks.

From page to pixel: DOST-FPRDI launches digital library

The Department of Science and Technology -Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) recently launched its e-Library at the Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The launch was an output of the project "From Page to Pixel: Digital Transformation of the DOST-FPRDI Library". The project aims to digitize thousands of the Institute’s forest products research materials and publications. The shift to a digital platform ensures global access and long-term preservation of over three million pages of valuable materials, some dating back to 1954.
