DOST sets world record for the largest simultaneous bamboo planting event

CAGAYAN DE ORO — The Philippines has made it to the Guinness World Record for the most number of people planting bamboo simultaneously in multiple locations.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Ms. Sonia Ushiriguchi confirmed these on November 28, 2024, during the celebration of the National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week organized by the Department of Science and Technology and held in Cagayan De Oro City.

Locals of Cagayan de Oro City and its nearby municipalities and provinces are in for an exciting week as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) brings its latest innovations at the 2024 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW).
The 2024 NSTW officially opened today at the Limketkai Center, showcasing over 100 techno-exhibits, 30 technical fora, pitching sessions, and career talks. Anchored on the theme "Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan" with the sub-theme "Providing Solutions and Opening Opportunities in the Green Economy," the event highlights the innovative contributions of Filipino scientists, engineers, and researchers to the growth of science and technology.

DOST-FPRDI researchers receive DOST International Publication Award

The Department of Science and Technology through the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL) has recently conferred the International Publication Award to DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) researchers who were able to publish their research outputs in the Web of Science/Clarivate Analytics or Scopus indexed journals.
The DOST Intellectual Property Award - International Publication Award (DOST IPA-IPub) is given annually to scientists and researchers of DOST for their published research outputs in the last three years before the year of the nomination.
