4Ps women beneficiaries in Batangas undergo training on coconut-based products processing

Women beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Sitio Masasa, Brgy. San Juan, Tingloy, Batangas underwent a training on coconut-based products processing aimed at helping them establish their own community enterprise, held on 17-18 May 2022.
The women beneficiaries were trained on processing of coconut jam, macapuno/buko pastillas, buko yema, macapuno/buko in a jar, and buko juice. The processing technologies used and transferred to the beneficiaries were developed by the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). Dr. Florencio C. Reginio, Jr. (Assistant Professor 7) and Prince Joseph V. Gaban (Science Research Specialist I), both from IFST-UPLB served as the resource speakers during the training.

PH Navy receives fully automated remote weapon station from DOST

A research and development (R&D) output that would strengthen the firepower capabilities of our navy’s small patrol craft in defending the country’s littoral water territories was turned over to the Philippine Navy, an attached branch of the Department of National Defense (DND), on 20 May 2022.
During its 124th anniversary celebration, the Philippine Navy received the miniature version of the Building a Universal Mount for Heavy-Barrel Automated Weapon Integration or BUHAWI from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

DOST-TAPI recognizes external stakeholders and institutional partners

As a form of recognition to institutional partners, the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) awarded notable external stakeholders during the Launching of the DOST-TAPI Roadmap and Stakeholders’ Recognition on 13 May 2022 at the Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City.
The institutional partners have shown dedication through close collaboration with DOST-TAPI in achieving the mandates of promoting technology transfer and commercialization, and invention development in the country.

During the launching of the DOST-TAPI Roadmap and Stakeholders’ recognition on 13 May 2022 at the Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City, outstanding DOST-TAPI employees received due recognition for their hard work and exceptional performance in 2020 and 2021.
