The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office I (DOST-I) in partnership with SM Prime Holdings, launched an exhibit titled, 'Connecting Today to Tomorrow' last 28 March 2022, at SM City Rosales, Pangasinan. The event featured sustainability and disaster resilience initiatives of the DOST as well as the efforts being done by the private sector like SM Prime Holdings.
Herald D. Eleria, SM City Rosales Mall Manager, stated that the activity is an initiative of SM Prime Holdings towards reinforcing its commitment to protecting the environment and the community and fostering sustainability and disaster resiliency, not only for the private sector but also for the public sectors and the individuals.

Engr’s Steel Industry, a firm based in Dipolog City, recently received PhP 2,500,000 assistance for equipment and productivity upgrades from the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office IX (DOST-IX), through the agency’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

Leading the initiative, DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña emphasizes how Filipinos may benefit from the VIP, which is envisioned to be the country’s foundation of research and innovation on human, animal, and plant viruses in the next 10 to 15 years.
