In recent years, several breakthroughs and innovative products and services have been developed by our Filipino scientists and engineers to provide timely solutions to some of the country’s pressing problems and limitations. After years of working in the laboratories and fields, every researcher is aiming to see their respective R&D products land in the market and are actually being used by many Filipinos.
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) and the Department of Trade Industry (DTI), through the Board of Investments (BOI) have been working together to introduce these R&D products and services to different industry players and potential investors.

DOST-I and Ilocos Sur institutional partners bat for more science-led projects in the region

Convergence!Stakeholders signed MOA for CEST implementation in Ilocos Sur towards ending local armed conflicts.
To build full support and foster strong commitments among stakeholders towards promoting science, technology, and innovation and to achieve inclusive and sustainable peace, the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office I (DOST-I) rallied various stakeholders in the region to work closely together.
32 OFWs to start with Phase 1of DOST’s iFWD program to set up technology-based businesses

The Department of Science and Technology-Caraga (DOST-Caraga), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Caraga (OWWA), and the Department of Trade and Industry-Caraga (DTI) joined forces to assist returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)who wish to establish their own businesses in their provinces. There are already 32 OFWs who will undergo training under Phase 1 of DOST’s Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly from the Philippines or iFWD PH program.
Because of the pandemic that prompted many OFWs to come back to the Philippines, the DOST saw the need to assist them especially those who expressed their interest to settle down permanently in the country and start their own technology-based enterprises.

RD Lead program gets included in the DOST innovation landscape map

The Research and Development Leadership (RD Lead) Program, one of the four sub-programs under the Science for Change Program (S4CP), is now included in the innovation landscape map of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The DOST Innovation Landscape Map was developed to showcase the reach of the various projects and programs of the DOST and its attached agencies. The map presents information in an interactive geographical format, which allows users to quickly see the areas in the country covered or reached by the various DOST offices, projects, programs, and initiatives.
