DOST-FNRI now a certified “mother-baby friendly workplace”

In compliance to RA 10028 or the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009, the Department of Health-National Capital Region awarded the Department of Science and Technology-Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI), the certification as “Mother-baby Friendly Workplace” early this year. FNRI is the first DOST agency to be awarded with said certification which is valid for two years.

DOST, LANDBANK ink partnership for OneSTore.ph project

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) officially sealed its partnership with the Land Bank of the Philippines at the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the OneSTore.ph Project last March 14, 2016 at LANDBANK Head Office, Malate, Manila.

DOST’s STARBOOKS WINS ANOTHER AWARD

The Department of Science and Technology's STARBOOKS, or the Science and Technology Academic and Research-based Openly Operated Kiosks, bagged the prestigious 2015 Outstanding Library Program of the Year Award by the Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians Inc (PAARLI). Receiving the award for STARBOOKS is (second from left) Nelly B. Agpawa, Arlene E. Centeno and Maribel B. Palafox during the awarding ceremony last January 29 at the PAARLAnnual General Assembly held at the Far Eastern University in Sampaloc, Manila. STARBOOKS, the country's first stand-alone digital library for science and technology, contains hundreds of thousands of S&T materials such as journals, news, theses, dissertations, researches, encyclopedia, plus a number of livelihood videos. Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Mario G. Montejo (in native hat) tries one of the food delicacies produced by one of the exhibitors in the SIPAG Fiesta event of the DOST’s Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD). The SIPAG Fiesta is a celebration of the many innovations developed by DOST-PCAARRD in agriculture and aquatic resources that Secretary Montejo mentioned during the opening ceremonies to have numbered 34 agri-aqua commodities that are unique and of world class quality made possible by intensive research and development efforts of local scientists and engineers.
