From page to pixel: DOST-FPRDI launches digital library

The Department of Science and Technology -Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) recently launched its e-Library at the Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The launch was an output of the project "From Page to Pixel: Digital Transformation of the DOST-FPRDI Library". The project aims to digitize thousands of the Institute’s forest products research materials and publications. The shift to a digital platform ensures global access and long-term preservation of over three million pages of valuable materials, some dating back to 1954.

DOST-FPRDI secures patent for Wastewater Treatment Equipment

An internationally recognized local invention from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), was granted patent by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) for its effective wastewater treatment that may contribute in the prevention of environmental pollution in the country.
The DOST – Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) recently secured a Letters Patent Invention No. 1/2022/050420 for its “Equipment System and Process for Treating Wastewater from Wet-Type Finishing Spray Booths”, granted by the IPOPHL.

DOST, SEAMEO TROPMED Network open training for Filipinos across SE Asia

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) inked a deal with a top international institution to expand its scholarship coverages in health for Filipinos across Southeast Asia.
Last April, DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Tropical Medicine and Public Health (SEAMEO TROPMED) Network signed the Memorandum of Understanding that will expand capacity-building opportunities for Filipinos.
