Non-librarians from various educational institutions participated in a two-day basic training for library-in-charge, organized by the Department of Science and Technology - Science and Technology Information Institute, held on November 5-6, 2024, at the DOST-STII Training Room.
Recognizing libraries as cornerstones for enhancing students’ educational experiences, the ‘Make Your Library Alive (MYLA): Basic Training for Library-in-Charge’ was designed to equip school staff or faculty members with essential skills and knowledge required to effectively manage school libraries.

DOST-FPRDI’s LiLOK project to help local wood carving industry

A new project from the Department of Science and Technology - Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) aims to support the wood carving industry in Paete, Laguna.
Titled “LiLOK: Likhain at Linangin Obra mula sa Kahoy: Valuing the Wood Carving Industry in the Philippines,” this initiative seeks to boost the local carving industry by documenting its rich cultural history and mapping its value chain to recommend solutions for market improvement.

The Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee – I (RRDIC-I), a committee of the Regional Development Council (RDC), signs a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with RTI International, implementing the U.S.-Philippines partnership for Skills, Innovation, and Lifelong Learning (UPSKILL) Program.
With funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), UPSKILL collaborates with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to bridge the gap between technology innovation and commercialization, aligning these efforts with national development priorities.

Students of Angelo L. Loyola Senior High School (ALLSHS) in Carmona, Cavite, will enjoy learning various science-related lessons and concepts with the launch of the 21st Century Learning Environment Model (CLEM).
It served as one of the main highlights of the opening day of the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) celebration in CALABARZON.
