A multi-voltage system solar-powered generator developed by a research team from Tarlac province successfully passed pilot test as it produced enough power to run common household appliances simultaneously. The generator, developed by Tarlac State University, was tested and launched by the Department of Science and Technology in Brgy. Ungot, Tarlac City.

Dr. Reynaldo Ebora (left), executive director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) visits the Hydroponics Park at the Central Luzon State University in Munoz, Nueva Ecija. With him is Dr. Chito F. Sace (right) who is conducting research on hydroponics, a technology that does not use soil as medium to grow plants like vegetables but uses a mixture of nutrients dissolved in water under controlled conditions. Dr. Sace recently gave a lecture on hydroponics during the celebration of the DOST Region III’s Regional Science and Technology Week held at the CLSU campus.
