DOST gives orphans a science day out

It’s a day out for these kids and what a spree indeed it was-- they learned more about the weather, earthquakes, and science and technology (S&T). The kids are residents of Boys Town, an institution where “homeless, abandoned, forgotten, and voluntarily surrendered children, teenagers, and senior citizens” are turned over for custody.

In line with the celebration of the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW), the Department of Science and Technology – Region II (DOST-II), together with Cauayan City and Isabela State University, will be showcasing back-to-back science and technology (S&T) activities from August 14 to August 18 at F. L. Dy Coliseum in Cauayan City, Isabela.

Innovation is at the heart of the many development programs of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) from agriculture to industry to health. DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña said that the DOST is now putting more resources into research and development by partnering with different stakeholders like state colleges and universities to serve as innovation hubs in the regions.
