The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Provincial Science and Technology Center- Pangasinan shared its Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) during the 2-day Capacity Building Training of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Eastern Pangasinan Field Office on 26-27 January 2022 in Balungao and Alcala, Pangasinan.

For more almost two years, the entire world has been battling against the COVID-19 pandemic. And through this, we have seen how most of the women have stepped up and led some of the impressive ground-breaking researchers into public health, vaccines, treatments, and innovative technology.
However, it seems they were gaps that need to be addressed as these claims have not been supported by the recent UNESCO’s Science Report.

DOST-IX funds P10.78-M pro-poor and community-based projects in Zamboanga del Norte

DOST-IX team, together with LGU-Godod and Makinaryas Elementary School, visits the area for site validation. Right photo shows the existing water source used by the residents. The project to be established includes the installation of a gravity-type water system with communal tap stands to be strategically distributed in the community.
The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office IX (DOST-IX) funds 13 pro-poor and community-based projects in Zamboanga del Norte with assistance amounting to P10,785,131.65. These projects were funded through the agency’s local Grant-in-aid (GIA) assistance in 2021.

DOST assists coco coir and salabat granules production in Zamboanga del Sur

The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office IX (DOST-IX), through its Provincial S&T Center and in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Lakewood, Zamboanga Del Sur, recently turned over a Grant-In-Aid (GIA) assistance to Baking Small Coconut Association (BSCA) and Gasa ELCAC Women’s Association (GEWA), amounting to PhP1,320,959.00
The fund assistance will be utilized for the establishment of the Coco Fiber Production Facility and the Salabat Granule Processing Facility. Included in the things to procure are tools and materials for the said facilities; machineries such as the Coco Husk decorticating, motorized twining, coconut coir twining steel and pedal type, weighing scale, ratchet-type looming, heavy duty juice extractor, cast iron, tables, strainer, stock pot, and the likes.
