DOST-ITDI pursues local sustainable production in SSX 2022

On 23 to 25 March 2022, the Industrial Technology Development Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-ITDI) will be joining government efforts to launch Sustainability Solutions Expo 2022 (SSX 2022) via the streaming platform Hopin.
Dr. Annabelle V. Briones, DOST-ITDI director, will be part of a panel of five key presenters during a sprint presentation on Day 1 Segment 4 of the digital expo, "How the Philippines is Addressing Sustainability and What It Means for Businesses."

Technology business incubators (TBIs) from different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Davao Region, spearheaded by UP Mindanao Growing and Developing Enterprises (UPGRADE), recently concluded the Region XI Startup Community Dialogue last 14 January 2022, via Zoom platform.

The science and technology interventions for the indigenous community of Aetas in Barangay Banoyo, San Luis, Batangas continues!
Women members of the Aeta community were trained in the basic course on sewing as a kick-off activity for the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-funded solar-powered sewing services enterprise that ran from 31 January to 01 February 2022.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to sit in on elections and serve? What preparations are being made to ensure the election's success? How do they prepare the front-runners for the big day?
The Electoral Boards (EBs), used to be known as Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs), are composed of teachers from the Department of Education (DepEd) who are chosen based on the criteria of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). They're the real players when it comes to Election Day. However, before being deployed to the ‘battlefield’, they must complete a series of training programs, including the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Certification Program.
