DOST employees gather for a lunchbreak rally to oppose the provisions under the new salary standardization bill of 2015 that will cut the S&T workers’ benefits. Leading the talks for the retention are Science Sec. Mario Montejo and Asec. Raymund Liboro who approached proper channels to retain RA 8439 or the “Magna Carta for Scientists, Engineers, Researchers and other S & T Personnel in the Government." As of Wednesday, most members of the bicameral committee supported the magna carta benefits retention, a development that cheered around 5,500 S&T workers. (Photo by Henry A. TO THE HARDWORKING MEN AND WOMEN OF THE DOST
The DOST supports the proposed Salary Standardization Law IV that is bound to increase the basic salaries of civilian government personnel including S& T workers nationwide.
Likewise, the DOST unswervingly upholds the spirit of RA 8439 which recognizes & properly compensates the efforts of S&T workers in laying down the cornerstones of development in the country.

Batangas studes get beyond basics in DOST’s science journ writeshop

Communication students and campus journalists of various campuses of Batangas State University (BatSU) learned something new beyond the basic 5 Ws and 1 H of news writing. In a recent writing workshop conductedby the Department of Science and Technology’s Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), resource persons introduced to participants a sixth question to be answeredin science- or technology related article, and it does not begin with the letters “w” or “h.”
