Amidst the challenges brought about by natural hazards, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) reaffirms its support to communities and local government units (LGUs) through the introduction of science-based tools and solutions for disaster at the 2025 National Science, Technology, and Innovation week (2025 NSTW).
For this year’s NSTW, DOST will feature a portfolio of disaster preparedness technologies including GeoRiskPH and PlanSmart.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) through the Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) is bringing various aromatic scents and fragrances to this year’s celebration of National Science, Technology and Innovation Week (NSTW) to be held in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on November 18-21.
With the goal to transform the essential oils industry in the country, DOST-FPRDI introduces an eco-friendly approach through its ‘Green Fragrance with Purpose’ initiative.

One of the much-awaited events of the 2025 National Science, Technology and Innovation Week (NSTW) is the awarding of the top communities from among the nominated cities in the 2025 Philippine Smart and Sustainable Communities Award.
For the past two years, since the Smart and Sustainable Cities Program (SSCP) of the DOST was introduced, local government units (LGUs) across the country expressed their interest in partnering with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and adopting smart and sustainable technologies applicable to address certain problems in their area.
